"I have been learning Bowspring yoga for about a year. It has been challenging but mostly an eye-opening experience at the same time. Learning the proper alignment, Bowspring has given me strength that I never knew I had, both physically and mentally. The practice emphasizes proper alignment to prevent injury which is most important in my opinion. I am delighted to learn more about Bowspring and its growth in years to come."

"Bowspring has been a tremendous benefit that helps me in other interests in my life. I have added power in my pedal stroke while climbing trails when mountain biking. When engaging in my love of backpacking and hiking, the extra pounds of gear I carry do not hamper my stride. I attribute this improvement in my strength to the established Bowspring principles and its muscular integration within the main muscles of the body."
Richard "I like that the poses are ever-evolving and thusly never do we have a stagnant practice. I am very grateful for the effect practicing yoga has on my body. I am stronger and more flexible now than I have ever been. It's natural to incorporate what we have learned into everyday life." Melba |
"I have been doing hatha yoga on a regular basis since 1998. I have tried many different styles of yoga, but Bowspring is by far the most effective practice to date. The Bowspring method aligns the body not in a superficial way but in a deep profound manner. As my body has aged over the last 17 years, this program has given me increased mobility and strength, and I believe it is a yoga practice that I can use for at least the next twenty years."
Susan "As an athlete, Bowspring yoga truly resonates with me. Each movement and series is about how we as humans are designed. So much thought and analysis has gone into how we can be most powerful, confident and effective in mind, body and soul. That to me is empowering. That to me is what it means to be an athlete." Elizabeth "As a Physical Therapist, it is refreshing to take Linda's class each week. Working through the Bowspring postures encourage strength, flexibility and balance that reflect the much needed buttock, spine and scapular stability required for our everyday activities. The relaxing environment allows for friendly exchanges, modifications, education of the theories behind the postures and mindfulness relating to the poem or thought of the day. I leave energized and looking forward to the next session. Of note, you really need to try several classes or even a full session in order to capture the benefits of the practice as each session builds upon the prior postures. Thank you Linda!" DG "I have been taking yoga for 2.5 years once a week. I have a busy life like most, but this class has become a priority in my life. I’m in my mid-fifties and I believe that Bowspring yoga is preparing my body to age strong. I had a few small aches and pains before I started, but these have all been addressed by practicing this kind of yoga. I believe this yoga style naturally complements the body's need for proper alignment and engagement of all muscles for strength. The stretches and balance poses we work on have especially given me a stronger lower back. This workout energizes me mentally while strengthening all muscles in my body, including my upper body. Who knew I could be doing hand stands at my age? I’m inspired by my teacher and of how this yoga style continues to evolve in support of a strong body and mind-body connection." Cindy "Bowspring has been very beneficial to me. I practiced Anusara yoga for 10 years, and I loved it, but I feel Bowspring is the natural evolution of alignment principles as it relates to the human body and how that body was designed. It makes perfect sense. As I have been practicing Bowspring I have noticed that I am stronger physically. I love the concept of "radiant heart' which helps me with my breathing and posture. The poses actually build strength and increase vitality. It really will put a "spring in your step!" I am thankful that my teacher introduced us to Bowspring!" Pam "Because Linda has shown me the Bowspring alignment I can now incorporate it in my standing and sitting positions. My posture is straighter and I feel more confident. I am enjoying my yoga classes, especially when Linda continues to teach new techniques that continue to evolve my Bowspring journey. I am grateful for her teachings." Irene "Some three years ago my wife suggested I attend yoga classes since she herself had been attending Linda Oelschlaeger's class for some time. She was very impressed with the way Linda taught her classes and felt I would benefit greatly by attending. She also felt it would improve my golf game. Now that was definitely an incentive... As time went by and I performed in class I could see the many benefits of yoga on my body. My flexibility improved as well as my ability to improve on a variety of poses we performed. I have been very satisfied with the progress I have made in yoga. I particularly try to encourage some of my male friends to try it." Ron "Regarding my scoliosis, yoga has helped me in a way that I hoped it would, like being able to lie on my belly, and I feel more limber than before. Yoga has helped to remember to breathe when exercising and try new moves that I never imagined I could do. I feel that it has strengthened my back and especially my core. I will join yoga every chance I have, and thank you for helping me accomplish all of this Linda. I really appreciate you." Maria "As Linda has seamlessly shifted her students to the Bowspring principles, I feel that the Bowspring concept lets me see my body, from the toes up, as a rising column. It seems so integrated that I sense the lift starting in the big toes, upward to the glutes, and winding up in the effort to V-Vector lift the shoulders. It even works while standing in a museum listening to a lecture--what stealthy movements can be made! I thank my lucky stars in finding Linda years ago." Peg "The yoga classes that we are now practicing are improving my legs, arms, and thankfully, my back. I enjoy running, biking, and I use my treadmill most mornings. As a bank teller I am on my feet all day. Thanks to yoga I feel the benefits at the end of each day, mentally and physically. Thanks to my teacher Linda Oelschlaeger, this is a very rewarding experience." Judy "Bowspring has made my yoga and my life quite different. I am more aware of my body and posture. When I stand and sit I am aware of the curves, especially keeping the pelvis back, filling the upper back, and pressing my head back. The poses have increased my strength and tenacity. I am learning more about myself and my body through the different postures and movements. Bowspring has awakened me to new possibilities for myself and I welcome these." Sue "I have been practicing yoga with Linda for about 7 years. She is a wonderful teacher and friend. I like the Bowspring practice for its attention to correct body alignment on and off the mat. We are building body strength, especially strong leg muscles which are so important for our balance and making us feel younger than our actual years. :-) Linda loves teaching yoga and her students. She inspires me in every class. If you will try a class, you will see the many benefits that come from Bowspring yoga practice." Gwen "I started taking this class because I have lower back pain and was hoping for some relief. I was somewhat skeptical when I began this class, once a week, about 6 weeks ago but, It really seems to work for me and I'm sleeping better, too. Linda is an excellent, passionate and patient teacher." Kathleen "Every time I get in my car I am reminded of the benefits I am receiving from Bowspring yoga. Bowspring puts my back in its proper place against the lumbar support of my seat. It has made a big difference in how I feel behind the wheel. From tip-toes to finger tips this is a challenging yoga that is well worth the effort." Susan |
