We can think of the core of our body as all sides of our midsection, a bellyband. This area of the waist and low back is soft, long, and strong. The belly is soft and the low back has a soft curve. There's length between the hips and the ribcage. And this midsection is strong. Fascia, our connective tissue, criss-crosses over the belly. As the belly lengthens the fibers narrow and cinch strong like a Chinese finger trap.
