with a drag,
your glutes won't sag...
In our Bowspring practice we begin the engagement of the feet, legs, and hips with a "dig-drag" action of the feet. We dig the paw (the front part) of the foot isometrically forward and down into the ground which hollows the front of the ankle, the back of the knee, and the groin.
We then isometrically drag the heel back away from the paw and lift it up. This engages the back of the leg (calves and hamstrings) and the back of the hip (including the glute muscles). We practice this dig-drag action in every pose, integrating the foot into the leg and hip.
Come dig-drag with us in class this week!
